Thank-you for choosing The Clay Yard to explore your creativity with clay. Have fun and relax in this brand new ceramics studio alongside the edge of the River Dart.

Knowledge and Understanding

You may like to take a moment to browse through a range of useful resources in order to gain an insight into the broad and varied skills, techniques and applications of clay. The Clay Yard E-Learning resource.

What to Bring

Please bring your own apron, a notebook and pen and a small towel. If you like you may bring your own tools and equipment but please ensure these are clearly labelled.

Food and drink is not provided on this course.

Health and Safety

Please ensure that you have read and understood the guidance for operating safely in the studio. If you have any further questions relating to this please get in touch.

Included in the course is 4kg of clay, glazing and firing. Additional clay is charged at £2.50 per kg. See Terms and Conditions.

Getting Here

Public Transport

The Stagecoach Gold service stops outside the Seymour Vets other bus services stop at The Seven Stars. The mainline train service is a 25 minute walk from the station to the studio.

Steamer Quay car park charges from 8am to 6pm. Longmarsh Long Stay is recommended as it is a low-cost option. After 5.30pm you are welcome to park in spaces outside the studio.
